This year has already seen a number of exciting achievements and developments at JCAS:
· Stacey Dodge has joined our board. Stacey has a wealth of experience in community and philanthropic organisations and she has a great passion for our mission of ‘Education. Inclusion. Belonging.’ You can learn more about Stacey in this edition of our newsletter. Welcome Stacey!
· Our annual teacher’s assistants training day was once again a huge success. Hosted by Bialik College, the day featured expert educators and facilitators, and it provided a unique opportunity for teacher’s assistants to come together and collaborate and share their experiences. Read more about the day, and watch our video, inside this newsletter.
· Our iconic Posh Opp Shoppes continue to go from strength to strength, thanks to the tireless work of Rosalie Silverstein OAM and her team. Don’t forget to visit the stores in Glenhuntly Rd, to donate your pre-loved goods, register your interest as a volunteer or just browse for a bargain or two!
· For the first time this year, JCAS will distribute $1 million, which will go towards funding teacher’s assistants for approximately 250 children across the 11 Melbourne Jewish day schools. This support has life-changing benefits, not only for the children and their families, but for the broader school communities that embrace inclusion.
Our 2026 fundraising campaign is in full swing. You may have noticed our recent billboard campaign and have received an email from our Chair of Fundraising, Michael Karp. Please do consider giving whatever you are able, to help us support children with extra needs.
Thank you for your ongoing interest and support.
Warmest regards
Justin Graham KC
President, Jewish Children’s Aid Society Inc.
