The aides started 2026 with a dynamic training morning at Bialik College. The organizing team of Sharon Goodhardt, Gabby Walters and Dr. Melody Curtis ensured there was valuable presentations, plenty of delicious food and a videographer to capture the day. President Justin Graham KC opened with insights into JCAS and the Posh Opp Shoppes, thanking assistants for their impact, while Deborah Reed welcomed everyone on behalf of Bialik’s generous hosting team.
Lisa Cohen and Lianne Kady of Elevated Educators set the tone with brain‑based strategies for behaviour support, keeping participants engaged through hands‑on activities.
Shula Lazar, Principal of Yavneh and schools representative on the JCAS board, gave a thoughtful look at inclusion through biblical figures.
Steve Curtis streamlined registration, certificates and feedback, contributing to an overwhelmingly positive response.
The training day provided a unique opportunity for teachers’ aides in Jewish schools to come together and share stories and experiences, as well as to learn valuable skills they will take into the classrooms this year and beyond. There was much discussion and collaboration, facilitated by the expert educators and we already look forward to next years event being bigger and better. See a video below from the event
